In a small town in the central part of Argentina, called Villa Sarmiento .in Cordoba a group of children
have gathered in the patio of their home. It was summer in the hot month of December before chistmas time.
It was a family gathering . Brothers and sisters families came together to celebrate a birthday .They brought with
them the children. They were of different ages from 12 to three years old.
Three brothers The family has gathered in the occation of . The home has been built on stages first one room
then the other rooms and more things were added every month when the parents got paid for their jobs as teachers in the local
school.
The parents of the children , were brothers and sisters , seven in total and also will join with them their
mother , grandmother of the children.
The parents of the children ,Often times on weekends or holydays got together in the summer
for evenning meals as large family reunion. The children were young ages form 12 to three.
The children were in summer vacation from the school. during the week will attend an evening at the local church
were they got to sing with other children in a choir formed by a group of guitar players and singers , singing songs to praise
jesus and lift the spirit high in the moments when argentina was having very dificult times at the economic level.
this was not part of the choir of a mass , it was more of an idependant group that has been formed with singers playing
songs to uplift the spirit and created joy in the heart of people and also hope in the children , the parents like the
children to have faith in god as their savor. the part of being help by god in the every day living, they were
to tired to have time to think in god. they have to work very hard and every time things costed more , and the salaries
got cut off. Some of the parents owned a brick building factory, very small and a lot of work in the sun and the
heat from the oven. The parents also dreamed of jobs in offices with good clothes and air conditioner in the summer and heat
in the winter . they have a diploma in highschool and technical preparation but there were no jobs. they have to create jobs
to support the family and brick making was waht they were doing to support the family , the brothers worked together
and , were building their homes as their time and money allowed .
the local church they have programs for children playing songs in the choir to uplift the spirit of the town and
to bring good luck. this group joined by guitars and singing were joined by adults and children and learned
songs to uplift the spirit by invocal the spirit of Jesus. their songs were more directed to jesus and not so
much of the christ.
, Under the moon light they played games of catch and see, and once were exausted from chasing and hiding in the
dark , they settle down in a circle . I was visiting the families, I left the adults and joined with the children . The moon
was full , the siluete of the tall threes near by made the night more magical, the silence of the night in the country side
was very penetrating and settling. The youngest one were falling tired and laying down in a blanket, the oldest ones gathered
around the edge of the blanket and formed a tight group circle. Questions came to their mind about chritsmas and the santa
claus. In argentina jesusu birth is the christmas in the tv they showed the santa claus in the usa muvies bringing a
lot of present to children. Their parents for some of them worked hard to bring the family up and have not money for
the present they wanted. The children had a beutifull expresion on their faces , and they really wanted
to know how to get presents for the hollydays, presents that they wanted, they will get candies, or little things
but not the presents shown in the stores because they costed a lot of money and they new their parents will not buy for them
because they were poor
